Participant Commitment Policy
In recognition of the substantial investment made by the Waco Foundation to underwrite tuition for all program participants and acknowledging the overwhelming interest in this program that surpasses the available spots each year, LeadershipPlenty® Institute establishes the following commitment policy for all selected participants:
1. Attendance and Participation
1.1. Attending all 10 modules (class sessions) is a mandatory requirement for successful graduation. No unexcused absences will be permissible. See the Absence Policy for further details.
1.2. We understand that unforeseen emergencies and scheduling conflicts can arise. However, participants are expected to make diligent efforts to engage in the 10 learning modules fully. Completion of all 10 sessions, which includes participating in make-up sessions for approved absences, is necessary to obtain a certificate.
1.3. In the event of an absence, participants must notify the program manager in advance of the missed session and submit an approved make-up form for each pre-authorized absence. A maximum of three absences per term is allowed. While various make-up opportunities will be provided, absences should be avoided.
2. Session Timing and Punctuality
2.1. Session hours are as follows: the Morning session commences at 8:00 a.m. and concludes at noon, while the Evening session starts at 5:30 p.m. and concludes at 9:30 p.m. Your acceptance email will specify your assigned session (Morning or Evening).
2.2. Punctuality is of utmost importance. Participants are expected to arrive promptly at the designated session start time. Late arrivals disrupt the flow of the session and hinder the learning experience for all participants. If unavoidable circumstances prevent timely arrival, please inform the program manager in advance.
3. Active Engagement
3.1. Active and consistent participation throughout the entirety of each session/module is essential.
3.2. Participants are expected to engage with facilitators and fellow participants actively. The interactive nature of the sessions requires full participation to ensure productivity and significance.
3.3. Device usage during sessions should be reserved for designated breaks.
4. Removal From Class
4.1. An absence during Module 1 will result in immediate expulsion from the class. The vacated spot will be offered to the next individual on the waitlist, and no advance notice will be provided.
4.2. Missing more than two sessions/modules will lead to non-completion of the course.
4.3. Participants with any unexcused absences will not be awarded a certificate of completion.
4.4. The program manager reserves the right to remove participants from the class due to repeated tardiness, early departures, or excessive technology usage that detracts from the learning process.
*Failure to fulfill the course requirements may prevent another eligible applicant from participating in the Institute for the current year.
5. Dedication of Time
5.1. It's important to note that the original format of this course involved a commitment of 80+ hours of lesson plans. However, to enhance flexibility for participants' schedules, all sessions have been condensed from 8-hour to 4-hour sessions.
5.2. Despite the condensed format, each session remains highly material-intensive. Participants should be well-prepared because every class will have minimal breaks and be content-rich.
5.3. Make-up opportunities will be available during the course term and generally demand a time commitment equivalent to that of a course module (approximately 4 hours).
5.4. Demonstrating commitment is vital to uphold the completion of the Institute.

This policy underscores the significance of dedicating the requisite time and effort to fully immerse in the LeadershipPlenty® Institute program, honoring the financial backing from the Waco Foundation and other benefactors. Understanding the adjustments made to accommodate schedules, and acknowledging the intensive nature of each session, will contribute to a more rewarding learning experience. Adhering to this commitment not only furthers personal growth but also upholds the integrity of the course and ensures equitable opportunities for deserving participants annually.
