APPLY TO LPI

Individuals must submit an online application to be considered for the LPI program. Applications open yearly on July 1st and close on September 1st.

LPI is designed for people of varying backgrounds, occupations, and experiences who are passionate about improving the local community and developing and enhancing their leadership skills.

No previous leadership or volunteer experience is required to apply, and you do not have to be nominated to apply. We strive to have well-rounded classes that balance emerging leaders with experienced leaders.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Individuals selected to be part of the Institute will be notified of their acceptance via email on or before September 12th. Participants are expected to attend all ten half-day sessions from October to February. Separate morning and evening classes are offered on the same day to accommodate differing schedules.

Participants are required to attend the session they are accepted to (preferences are accommodated when possible). Morning sessions are held from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and evening sessions are held from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Please note, all sessions have been condensed from 8-hour to 4-hour sessions in order to better accommodate participants' schedules, in turn, each session is material intensive.

"Social capital refers to "networks of relationships among people who live and work in a particular society, enabling that society to function effectively." Through LeadershipPlenty, I was able to successfully grow my social capital and connect with other Wacoans engaged in efforts to improve all of our community. It is a program that has helped me grow personally and professionally and has been essential in helping me to cultivate relationships in the city to where I now see Waco as home."
